How Tripod VPN works
Reliable connections across networks, flexible infrastructure and transparent data practices.
How the connection works
Your traffic passes through an intermediate node to one of our servers, then on to the destination.
We can change servers without you having to reconfigure your devices.

Resilience on restricted networks
Tripod VPN uses technologies that help maintain your connection even on restricted networks.
- Connection camouflage. VPN traffic looks like a normal website visit. Without Tripod VPN settings, the server displays a regular web page.
- Alternative transport. When direct connections are filtered, traffic can travel over HTTP.
- Automatic configuration. The app gets all settings from your subscription link.
Technologies: VLESS, REALITY and XHTTP.
What data we store
We record:
- Total traffic volume — without source or destination IP addresses or connection history.
- Short-lived diagnostic records of connections rejected by the server.
We do not record:
- Your browsing history.
- The contents of your traffic.
We do not sell data or use it for advertising or AI training.
Data is kept only for as long as necessary or required by law, then deleted or anonymised.
Open-source technologies
Our servers run Xray-core, and our recommended client apps use Mihomo. Both projects are open source.
